Man, I rarely ever ride a bike but when I do, I get hurt!!! I was riding my friends RMZ250 at my house today and I hit my berm and the front tire washed out and I took something hard (not sure what it was) to the knee! And man It KILLS NOW!!!

1/2 hour after...

If you're not crashing you're not riding hard enough. You crash on dirtbikes more then on quads, it's a fact of life. But the crashes on quads are usually alot worse.

I ride 2 ,3 and 4 wheels. Crashes on 2 wheels are a common place, not very bad, most of the time, the bike falls over with you under it. 3 + 4 wheel crashes usually are alot worse, they are heavier, wider and instead of falling over, they tend to roll down hills and stuff causing more accidents. I have crashed on dirtbikes many times and never hospitalized, doctor, nothing, just a bruise here and there. I broke my leg on a 4 wheels, and got a huge bruise on my hip when I crashed on my 3 wheeler(for the record, I crashed 4 times on my trikes, 3 of the 4 times were my fault from showing off).

i love bikes and quads, but i have to say that bikes r more fun and quads r easier to go fast on...and show off with because u don't need as much experience to do doughnuts and wheelies....i am buying a bike in the nxt wk hopefully...and getting rid of the quad:devil:

Yea my friend has bad luck with 2 wheels too. On every bike he rides something goes wrong. One day i was riding his kx80 when he was on his 1990 kx250 and we were dragging up and down the street and his driveway it in between 2 streets so we would race from one street to the driveway, but anyways his dad gets pissed when you ride on the lawn and when we were racing he started to pull hard and when he got to the end by his driveway he went like 60 over the entire backyard and kept going to the other street so im like wtf so im by his garage and he comes flying by screaming i can't stop so i get all nervous and kick the 80 over and chase him and we finally had to dump it pinned so he got really bad road rash, but the reason it was bad luck was the kill switch was broken, the rear brake pads were off, the front brake lever snapped and the clutch cable snapped.........the funny part is he bought that POS from me

Why don't you get rid of the 300ex and buy it? So you still have the 400?

Update:

My G/F's mom Worked at the hospital and says that since I was hit so hard in that one little spot that the bruise dispersed so big...its normal. I still have some swelling below my knee a little bit, I hope that goes away by itself, if not...guess I'll have to get it drained

I am sorry that you got hurt.

I grew up on two wheelers, then 3, now 4. My last off road ride was a 2002 CR250R. Raced 2 wheelers for a long time.

They don't suck at all. They are harder to ride and you will fall more. But, that's learning.

They are also WAY faster through rough stuff than a quad. They are easier to jump too.

I would rather ride a bike in the desert and a quad in the dunes. I would rather ride a bike on an mx track for sure...

They both have their pros and cons. I'd like to have both, but only have room for one...

So I went to the Hospital last night cause my leg was really bothering me. I had Xrays done and come to find out, right where I had hit my knee, there was a vein under there. the impact severed the vein and thats what caused all the excess bruising, that just has to heal with time. My actual knee is still sooo sore, they gave me crutches and a splint to wear, but I haven't really touched those yet, except for the way from the hospital. They said it will take at least another week before it starts to feel better.

You have to wear knee pads when riding bikes. Consider yourself lucky thats all you did. Glad to hear your ok. I rode bikes for 10yrs before going to quads. Its just a different type of riding. You can be doing everything right and still end up on your head.
