i was wondering on the hot start lever on the ASV, the cable from the carb to the lever, do you have to remove the metal sleeve on the cable? with the metal sleeve, its seems to stick, and not let the cable go back and forth. any thing can help

You cant use the stock cable, it has to be one like ASV sells or Baldwin has them too.

You can usethe stock cable but you have to rig it some how. Or just buy the "special cable"

You can use the stock cable but you have to take a barrel adjuster and gring it down. I am running that setup and it does not work that well. I am prolly going to buy the one asv or baldwin sells. I usually dont even use my hotstart anyway

sweet, does it just hook straight into the asv hotstart lever? Or does it have an adjuster on it? Also is it hard to hook a new hotstart to the carb I am guessing no.

Ya it hooks right into the hotstart lever. There is an adjuster on the cable itself. And it was a little trickey to figure out how to mount the other end to the carb.

Dunno if its just my style of ridin but the hot start lever on the ASV cuts hard into my thumb, wish I could do away with it.

One of my mates stuck a YZF 450(crosser) lever on his as they have hot start button located on the top out the way , but threre nothing like the ASV's!

on my asv lever with hotstart I have to pull the lever with my index finger. Then pull the clutch and pinch my finger in there. Start the quad and slip my finger out. I hate it!
I rigged a little spring on the cable to take up the slack. It doesent work for crap, I end up not using it ever.

Im going to get a seperate button at some point and run my old asv with no hot start.

That must be an old one or something. Mine pushes with my thumb like the stock one
