I recently bought an old lt250r motor at a yard-sale, it needs a new bottom left case, and the "cylinder cap". I currently ride a blaster, but the motor is going bad so I'm faced with the option of rebuilding the blaster motor, or rebuild ing the R motor and throwing that in the blaster. My question is, How hard is it to rebuild the Rs' motor/ put in a blaster, and is it going to be enough of a power gain to make it worth the trouble? Or should I just sell the motor and focus on the blaster.

It would be a neat build up.

But depending on how much time/money you want to invest. Doing a tune up on a blaster motor is just about the easiest motor to tune up.

if that 250 is liquid cooled than you have to find a place to mount a radiator, just somthin to think about. if you want a wicked build, find a old yz490 that is air cooled and drop it in the blaster. ive seen that done before and it ripped *****. i just think that getting all the parts you need and the work it would take to do the plumbing, it seems it would be easier to do an air cooled swap of some sort.

490? Is that an old motor? How easy does it fit?

dont put that lt engine in your blaster..... by the time you get that in there the money you would have spent would be more than making a blaster engine faster than that lt engine.... Ive seen some worked blaster engines beat some stock 450s... not bad but he did have alot of money in it.

a well ported/piped/reed/carb 240cc blaster is a fast bike, I have ridden several and I was shocked. The chassis didn't handle very good, but the motor was un-belieavable.
