99 banshee carb problems

i just bought a 99 banshee off of ebay. But now I am having a problem with getting the thing started. The bike runs awesome with plenty of power when i finally get it started but it takes twenty or so kicks to get it started. I think there may be a problem with the carbs. Another thing i noticed is that the spark plugs are different. One of the plugs looks like a normal car spark plug and the other has like a threads on the top. The air filter is also very dirty. I think tomorrow im going to run to the dealer and grab some new plugs and a filter. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

does anyone also know where i can find different settings for like the spark plug gap, the air screw on the carbs???
