According to the Air Resourse Board for California emissions, the 525 has 50hp. They list the LTR at 40.2, the 450R at 42.6 and the YFZ at 38.6 and the Raptor 700 at 47hp. So it looks like the 525 isn't to detuned from there bike. I would say this backs up Jeffs review of the power.:D

So is that also restricted because of Cali emission requirements? I do not know the difference between the stuff done to Cali legal engines compared to the rest of the states. Is it possible that the 525 shipped to other states will be a little higher HP because of lower emission requirements?

I say that is 50hp at the rear wheels. I would bet an atv looses7-10 hp from the crank to the wheels.

So why can't engine hp on a quad be measured at the rear wheels?

My piped Predator has 47.6 at the rear wheels so that makes it above 50 at the crank. If that is true then the 525 doesn't sound that great to me.
