Thought you fellas might enjoy these videos...
One of my bud's came home for Christmas from South Carolina where he is stationed for the Air Force....so we did a little riding today. He recently purchased a 2005 450R.
My dad, my Air Force Buddy (Ryan), and I.....along with another one of my friends - Mitch (borrowed a Blaster from his cousin) went out riding today...did some racing and such.
For reference:
Ryan - Red 05' R (Air Force Dude)
Dad - Red 04' R
Me - Black 05' R
Mitch - Black/White Yamaha Blaster (he's nuts)
Drag races were all done on pavement...approximately a quarter mile strip slightly downhill then back uphill a little. Used rolling starts in 1st gear all the way thru the top of 5th (6th for the Blaster).
1st video is Ryan vs. Mitch. Ryan is on the red 450R, he weighs in at about 145lbs. It is a 2005 model and it has the HRC Airbox Lid, Uni Filter, HRC End cap, and it's jetted. Mitch is on the Black and White Yamaha Blaster, he weighs in at about 180lbs. It has had some work done to it...bored .040 over, reeds, FMF pipe, and who knows what else....

2nd video is my Dad vs. Ryan. Ryan is on the red 450R (loses this one), he weighs in at about 145lbs. It is a 2005 model and it has the HRC Airbox Lid, Uni Filter, HRC End cap, and it's jetted. My Dad is on the other red 450R (he wins), he weighs in at about 185lbs. It is a 2004 model, and it has a Full HMF Exhaust, Airbox Lid off, Sparks Filter, and its jetted.

3rd video is Me vs. My Dad. I'm on the Black 450R, and I weigh in at around 170lbs. It is a 2005 model and it has 13.1:1 Wiseco, HCS2, DASA Pipe, Airbox Lid off, Sparks Filter, and its jetted. My Dad is on the red 450R, he weighs in at 185lbs. It is a 2004 model, and it has a Full HMF Exhaust, Airbox Lid off, Sparks filter, and its jetted.

Lastly we have my friend Mitch on the Yamaha Blaster doing Donuts and then accidentally going into a wheelie which he can't sit down.....and why? The Blaster has NO rear brake. My Dad and I laughed at him for about 5 minutes afterwards....his expression when it happened was priceless.
