Ok i am posting another one since the last one was so obvious and popular. I am 15 and racing MX right now i have no atv, i terminally broke my last quad, and i am now riding a dirtbike for fun,

So, heres the question, I can get a STOCK TRX250R right now, or i can wait until May and get a new LT-R450, which would you recommend?

Does where you race allow 2 strokes? If so I would get the 250R but look for one withg work done thats what I am looking for.

Definatly LT-R, a stock 250r wont be as good as a stock 450. But if the 250r was real modded, then I would take it. But in your case, wait for the 450.

i could build the 250r over time, but if i get the LTR i will be making payments on it, so i wont be able to get as much for it.

After riding my freinds LTR today, dammmmmn I'm gonna have to say LTR.
Makes me wish that I waited a couple months for one. Plus 2-strokes are d-e-a-d.

I am a HUGE fan of the 250r. Built my own MX 265R from the ground up. But in your case, I'd say the LTR hands down. The 250r is sick when modded, but an LTR is race ready.
Stock for stock on an MX track, or anywhere actually, the R would get killed in every aspect. Plus LTR parts are readily avaliable. Revalve the shocks and do a few other things and your ready for the nationals and can race any class.

I love 250r's, but the tide is turning. You can buy one hell of a 250r now for the same price as a ltr450. If got a aftermarket framed w/ fiittng mx modifications, you will like the 250r better. It comes down to what you can get, new from the dealer you can get a ltr450 and not have any worry about 20 yr old parts and trying to get parts 5 years from now. I would have to say the ltr450.

LTR. Even though you are going to have to make payments you will not have to put any money into the LTR. Some tires and a CB and you will be set for a while. Then maybe later on get the shocks redone.

Once you dump 10k into the 250r IMO the LTR will still take it.

Also think you are dealing with a very old machine and you are going to have to replace alot of little things. Bearings, seals, topend prally, bottom end. Just think the tranny is almost if not 20 years old:eek2: 250r trannys are not cheap ether.
