Tightening stock 400ex chain

I tried tighting my chain by loosing the axle 4 bolts with an allen wrench and that didn't make a difference and i need to tighten my chain cause it clinks aginst my swing arm skid when I ride. So please let me know if you know how to do this. Thanks

in between your sprocket and your swingarm there is a thing with grooves in it.take a screwdriver or some channel locks and pull down and it should tighten your chain if those 4 allen head bolts on your swinger are loose.then just tighten the allen head bolts and your good to go.

Simply loosening the 4 allen bolts won't tighten the chain. Loosening them will release the force clamping the bearing carrier. By rotating the bearing carrier you can tighten or loosen the chain. Then re-tighten the 4 allen bolts.

The bearing carrier has 4 slots that can take a screwdriver. They're just inside of the sprocket towards the middle of the swingarm.
