racing with a 400ex

hi!!! i have a 400ex with a curtis spark exhaust, hotcam stage 1, dynojet kit, K&N air filter and powerlid, and a curtis spark rev box...
i want to know if i can race against the 450s with some modification... like bigbore460, suspension and a-arms
i dont have money to buy a new quad but i can spend approx 3000$ on my 400ex
what do you think about that???

i think ull keep up. to me its mostly the rider that counts. i used to race and was top 3rd everytime on my ex against the 450s. but i had to quit, couldnt afford gettin hurt and missing work.

With some mods yes and a higher comp piston (i.e. 12:5.1, or maybe a 13:1) I am not sure how high they make them. You would have to run race gas with those. The highest you can go without is 11:1. I am not sure but I think 450 is the bigest you can go in the 450 class. Like i said i am not sure about class requirements so don't hold me to that. You will have to have a kill switch, and nerfs.

I wouldn't put 3000 in a 400ex if you are asking that question. Sell the 400 and take that and the 3,000 and get a 450
