I know I am going to go with ss exhaust valves, but what are the advantages/disadvantages or ti intake vs ss intake?

Titanium valves are lighter, but they wear out faster than stainless. Stainless valves don't wear out as fast, but they are harder on your head.

Go Stainless!

Titanium valves are very nice...but they wear out MUCH faster...and they are WAYYYY more expensive..

SS:
+
Good strength and wear
Good cost
-
heavier than ti and heavier than oem steel
more spring pressure needed than ti, but not necessarily more than oem steel

Ti:
+
Lightweight and very hard
less spring pressure needed to control valves, less valvetrain wear and powerloss
-
expensive
undesireable wear characteristics when used with non-Ti equiped heads that are set up for steel valves. 06/07 450r's are better equiped to run Ti valves however most people end up changing to ss valves when replacing or going with a larger valve.

If you want alot of info on this go over to www.thumpertalk.com and look under the CRF450 threads. Also most of the CRF guys ditch the ti valves and get SS, so that should tell you something.

I'm getting my head redone and the Ti valves are cheaper than SS. I decided to go Ti since I bend and burn up all 4 valves 3 times a year any ways.
