Not many people on here have a 426 kit, is there a good reason?
Do they over heat too much or is it that no one wants to bore that much farther over, than a 416. A buddy of mine has a 416 and I want to be different than him, and be able to beat him at the same time. It is only an extra millimeter bore over a 416 and price is about the same. Anyone with some input?:devil

Heres is why i think people dont do a 425 as often as a 416 or 440 and i could be wrong so someone feel free to correct me. With a 416 you are not boring it out a lot so it will only run a little hotter. with a 425 you are boring it out to the furthest with a stock sleeve so it runs hotter. With a 440 they resleeve it so it doesnt run as hot. i think thats right:blah

I run a 425 but from the people that I talk to who run a 416 do it because they will have another bore on their stock cylinder if something was to ever go wrong. My feelings are that if anything goes bad on mine i will bump it up to a 440.

i currently run an 11:1 416.....i did that not knowing you could go to the 425. also....i have heard that you have to mill the head down .030 and chage the combustion chamber and do porting to make the 425 run to its potential. for me at the time i was not able to afford it.....but now i am working on building a 425 motor for next season.
