what do you guys think would be the best tire for open feilds and trails? I want tires that will be able to powerslide and stuff but still have traction in the trails. What should i go for? Im thinkin holeshota or razors

i would go for kenda klaws or knarlys. i have klaws and im on my second set and will be ordering them again. they do great in any condition and last a wery long time. my friend had the knarlys and they hook really good.

I run the Razr's for everyday riding. They have decent traction, good handling, a great all around tire.I've never ran them but i also see a lot of people running the Holeshot XCR's.

My vote would be the stock 400EX's tires per your requirements.

For just trail riding, I use Maxxis All Trak's but they aren't great for sliding, too much traction

I use the Kenda Klaw XC. I just got them for my 250x and they are a great tire. I slide pretty good in fields and grip good in the trails.

I would have to follow the Kenda crowd. I had the Klaws then I went to the hole shot HD. The Hole shots wore intirely to fast in my opinion. I now have a set of Kenda Knarly HT's. They are probably the best tire that I have owned. Seriously. They are being shipped for my wifes Lakota right now. And for $55 you cant beat the price. Just look up Colby at C&D

Try the new ITP Trac Star's 67 bux each at most places. They have a nice sliding characteristic and they girp great in the trails with the best cleanout of a sport tire i have seen yet on the market.

if you bought razr 2's they would probably outlast your quad. The set i have are on there second year going on 3rd year soon. Maxxis makes an amazing tire. I also have i razrs that have held up well too. Its true that maxxis tires are on the expensive side but the amount of time they last makes up for the price by far.

mine have lasted quite a while also. But on the flip side they have a harder compound to achieve this. which equals less traction on hardpack.

I ended up running them on pavment because they where starting to get low, and I got new tires on difrent wheels. Man, these things held up good event on pavment. Doing dounuts, burouts, oval track, drag racing, in a pavment parking lot. My front tires went bald and the razr 2's still have some left.

In this pic you can see how the front holeshots went bald. Im never buying a set of them again. My riding style definetly doesent soport soft tires. they only lasted me a month.

anyways. I vote kenda kalw... I have had a set of rear tires that hold up good. And hook up excelent. and slide better than the razar 2's

Holeshot GNCC is my favorite to date and I have had all of the others. I know they dont look cool, but nothing is wrong with stockers until they wear out, or cant handle any more plugs.

i really like the klaws in the rear and the GNCC's in the front. I raced like this and I could prob get another half season on the klaws. Prob like 3 races on the GNCC's. I will be running the 6ply Klaw fronts 22" and the 21" Knarly XC this year.

False. My buddy runs i-Razr's on his Predator and LT-R450 and hates them. They hook-up well when new but wear very quickly. If you like Maxxis, get the original Razr's. Second note is that many people are not considering weight. The Holeshot HD's and Razr 2's are very heavy. Weight isn't a good thing. Personally, I am not a huge Maxxis fan because the Razr 2's are too "extreme" of a tire for general trail riding and weigh too much, while the i-Razr's are poor from what I hear, and I really don't like the way the Razr's feel when riding. I prefer ITP and will be getting either the new Trac Stars or GNCC's front and rear.

i am not gonna say there is really a better company then another because its all personal opinion....i really like my itp mxr6's on my blaster....and hate them on my z400.....just to show that it depends on the quad or the rider.

but for a trail or field tire....stick with some type of razr(i love i razrs)

ITP Gnccs I just bought my girlfriend and myself sets for xmas and these things are sweet, really one of those you have to see them in person to appreciate them scenarios. MUCH better looking then the picture they supply n the site.

I was considering buying some mxr6's for the rear on my race quad for outdoor mx...any input on how they wear? ITP doesn't have the best rep for tire wear

There's trade off's on tires. The softer the rubber, the more it will flex and get traction. The harder the rubber, the less it will "bite" Consequently, the softer rubber is going to wear faster than the harder. Just gotta depend on what's important to you.
