is the 2005 TRX450R better than 2006?

I read on the internet that top pro's chad wienen and John natalie are using 2005 honda 450r's for the 2007. Is there a reason why?

I know there is something about the spindles, racers like the 05 spindles more.

Joe raced a 05 all year this year.
Engine builders are getting more reliable hp out of the 05

From what I've been reading it seems like the '05's might have a little less problems than the '06. I personally would want the '05 over the '06 just because of how the power hits.

It's due to the weak tranny's in the '06 and probably the same with the '07's. The top pros were blowing out gears like crazy in the '06 models, the '05's did not have that issue.

I know alot of the 05's had problems with the main bearrings wearing out. But like the pros, if you are going through the whole motors and re-doing so much, the berrings are something that would be replcaed anyways. One of my friends here in NY has an 05, and it has had the piss beatten out of it, and the bearrings are still good.

won't be good for Honda if all the top Honda riders switch back to older models.

I know a lot of the people I've talked to dont like the power delivery on the 2006 trx.. I've ridden a 2004, 2005 and a 2006 and I do indeed like the 2005 more..
