2005 450 special edition

Hey.
does anyone knows the diffrence in the stock 450 and the special edition?
i tryed a SE modell and it was much faster then the regular 450.

the SE they redesigned the head and put 6 valves in it and on top of that they took the dual cams out and made it a unicam motor which puts out about 40 more HP :p

hell if i know lol..the yamaha dealer near me checked the SE 450 and said the engine is not the same,,so i thought is he on drugs or not?lol..
he said its 10cc less then the regular 450 lol..

I think that your dealer is kind of stupid. They are the same with the exception of cosmetics. Are you sure you were not comparing a 2006 to a 2005 model? There is a big difference between years, but not between the SE and regular (engine wise).

yes you are right,,the SE is a 2005(black and yellow)and the other one we tested was a 2006(black with red frame)

regular 450 has a 5 valve , the Se has a 6 valve. i just bought the 07 450 red and grey. its faster than the older 450s
