Thanx for posting your pix. I bought some nerfs for my sons 06. We don't like them because you'd have to cut into the heel guard. Yours look good . what are they & did they just bolt up? I too have an R & he's got my stockers on the rear also. Santa got powermadd guards but they didn't have mounts so now time to get more stuff:(

No problem. These are the tusk brand from RMATV. They fit well and mount up without any cutting, and fairly inexpensive. Hope this helps, and I can get some more pics of the nerfs if you like. Let me know.

I just looked & saw in the book it goes to 05. Flyboy 62 has an 06. Thats why I didn't get those to begin w/. Is that what you ordered? the ones for an 01-05 will fit an 06?

i love the fmf. i think it is the best choice, it is fully tunable because it is a disk style muffler all you do is put on more disks for more back pressure and less for more exaust flow. the kit comes with 9 disks, a spark arestor, a quiet core insert, and all replacement mounting hardware. i put the muffler on with 5 disks and it boosted my top end power but the bottom end stayed the almost same. so i put on all 9 disks and it brought up the torque alot and now it has quicker throttle responce, but remember i am running holeshots (21" back) that will give you more torque also. and if you need anymore info just reply and i'll be glad to help you......heres another pic for you

whoops sorry it sounds stock idling or just putting around but once you crack the throttle its significantly louder than stock i have the quiet core in because we do have neighbors and i dont really want to make them mad. i take it out when im out pit or trail riding and it is really loud and it has a great low tone thump to it too

Well you see, I want a slip on exhaust, but i need to be very quiet. That pretty rules out HMF, Sparks, DG, Pro Circuit, and all I am left with is FMF, White Brothers, and Yoshimura. Have you heard the Mega Max compared to other pipes on 250's? Nice 250 by the way.

with the quietcore in the fmf isnt much louder than stock

sunco
01-11-2007, 08:00 AM
I have an 04 450R w/ a sparks pipe. Its very loud. Meet up w/ a dude that had 07 w/ a white brothers pipe. It seemed way quieter than mine but when you cracked the throttle it got loud. If I had to due it over I'd get the white brothers.

well, I hate to ruin anything...but more disks = less back pressure which means less torque. I have this pipe too and I don't think there is a noticeable differance in having more or less discs.
