afetr every 3 rides sounds CRAZY! pads are 25 bux a set on average, thats a lot of money in a year

Ive had my 300EX for almost 2 years now, I am on my 3rd set of rear break pads(including the stock ones) and my stock front pads, I live in the catskills and there are plenty of hills and moutnains, so Id say I have to use my breaks a lot, but not really a lot of mud. There is a lot of Dust though.

My cuzins 300 is like 2 months older than mine, and i think he is on his tenth pair of break pads, i guess it is all in how you ride. Id just say change yur pads when they need to be changed

My first set of brake pads lasted 30 days!

After reading the posts on this board about loosening the bolt all the way out on the parking brake, or simply remove it and use a block off plate.... I can tell you that my brakes are over 5 months old now and still over half life!

Actually the rear pads are exactly the same as the front. I'm also pretty sure that the pads for a 300ex and 400ex are the same. The brake setup I have listed below is supposed to really last a long time.

Yeah the new brake system stops the 400 on a dime. It's feels much better with the SST cables. The pads, well, we'll have to wait and c how long those mofo's last.

We change our front brakes about once a year. The rear brakes..depends really on the trail conditions, 2-3 times a year. We just keep an eye on them.
Changing those pads after every 3 rides does sound nuts.... ..and expensive.

yeah but he races and he gets the pads alot cheaper b-cuz his sponsers buy them or something, and he rides extreamly to fast for our trials!!! his bike will run about 75-80 flat out and he is in 5 gear that i wouldn't even hit 4 in so he realllyyyyyyyy needs good brakes!!!! but yea i just no that he changed them alot!!
