do i have to change bearings with axle or can i just change the axle

just like the title do i have HAVE to change my bearings when i change my axle...i bent my axle on my 06 z400 and bpught another and when i was gonne change i figured i should no all the details first

No - but you might as well check them and give them a good greasing while you have it torn down.
