Is it true that it won't count for anything?

Depends on your college's requirements, and your major as well, and whether it is a required or elective class. Best bet would be to talk to your advisor.

counts in your gpa but most colleges in your major require a C in all classes. Some of your Gen eds you may be able to get away with a D. But it WILL stay calculated in your GPA

sounds to me that you are "new" to the college scene... LoL Just retake the class during the summer (its cheaper & easier) - most colleges will accept a D if you can earn your degree there - however, should you need to transfer somewhere else, dont count on your D credits transfering...

Get used to this kind of BS - college is full of it.

i think u said u go to penn state...

at psu u need a C or better in classes that deal with ur major... gen eds and stuff u need a D or better...

so it depends on the class... my 1st semester i got a 6 credit D and got a 2.41 GPA because of it and had to retake the class:o
