I wouldn't think that a hose would be installed if it were meant to have a kink, but... I found a couple kinked hoses on my new 450er. One is a clear hose that comes off the back of the fan and bends upwards toward the handle bars. It is kinked where it bends upwards behind the fan . What is this hose for and should it be kinked?
The other hose comes from the bottom of the carb bowl. I believe it is only to drain the fuel but it is kinked from some other electrical wires being pulled around it. Anyone else's look like this?

No hoses should ever be kinked. Re-route the hoses so that they are not kinked, then they can work properly.

that's what I figured.
What is the clear hose coming off from behind the fan for ?

I just looked at another 06 and his hose wasn't kinked nor was the one coming off the bottom of the carb, his wires looked like they were routed better. wonder what else is a little funny that I haven't found yet
Maybe mine was built on a Friday.... not exactly giving me that warm fuzzy feeling inside:ermm:

The clear hose is just like a vent, it runs up to a plastic fitting in the frame and draws are from inside the frame.

so I guess it's just needed to help cool the fan motor huh.
Anyhow, I re routed the hose, but it kinda had a permanent kink but I got it straightened out good enough

Thanks
