What do you all think is the best truck that will fit a 03 400ex in the back and doesnt cost much, as a first vehicle? Ford Ranger?

S-10, Ranger, or Dakota. Any older models of these will run less than 1000 if it's in fairly well condition. One of my friends bought a Ranger from a junkyard that rana nd everything for 500 dollars, and another one of my friends bought an S-10 for 300. Both run fine and get the job done.

I got my F-150 with a 5.4L V8 for under 3k, dont get a ranger because you think the gas will be good....their almost worse with gas than F-150.

I actually went from a 4 banger Ranger to a 4.3 vortec S-10. Let's just say...I'll never jump back down that climb.

can't beat a 4cyl for gas mileage. Yea the vorted is a fast little truck. My grandma had one. I could roast the tires forever (ok 1 wheel lol) Now I have a 4.0 in my ranger I it feels alot more powerful then the vortect. But it only gets 17 MPG

My S-10 should be getting about 17-18 too. And you're right about it being a quick one. I raced my friend (has a 1500 Ram), and I beat him. He says it's because he didn't want to waste gas.

Yup, the 'Yota will cost a little more to purchase, but less to keep running.

And you can spend your money on tricking out the quad, not funding your mechanics retirement and kids college education fund.

American pre-2000 = crap.

hahaha Look who's talking trash. You havent even owned a foreign vehicle. Once you own one and compare it to your american vehicles then I will believe you otherwise stop talking about stuff that you don't know about. I will admit that dodge dakota is an allright truck. But I don't think you can compare it to our Nissan xe. And our toyota Tundra's (3 of them) have been excellent and you cannot beat them. Now for you to call the foreign cars a pos you are wrong and must not know about them!!! :D

Especially the Tacoma's they are kinda small for my liking. Now the Tundra access cab have good room up front. The double cab is really comfortable on the Tundra feels like a suv inside!!!

your a moron and toyotas are more american than your dodge toyota is now built here in the US.

if you want a cheap truck that will last a while get the s10 i had one and beat the hell out of it and it still ran fine when i sold it. i now own a tacoma and i like it alot better than my old s10. i think the s10 handled better than the taco but the taco is better in every other way.

I'd hope that a newer Toyota is better than your old S-10. Toyota is meant for comfort and they're starting to actually get the point through their minds that people want power. I'll stay with Chevy though, because if something breaks on it..Which would be easier to find. A chevy part or a toyota part?

toyota parts are pretty easy to find. they are some of the top selling cars and the older makes ran for years making parts cheap and easy to find..that is when you need them..

Both are prob equally as easy we never had to wait for a part so far. Its not like they are some offbrand someone has never heard of. They are prob just as easy to find as chevy

someone else that gets everything handed to him. let me tell you this kid....once you own a REAL truck( chevy, ford, dodge) then call me. because nothing is better than the rumble of a v8 motor in a REAL american TRUCK. imo, these toyota's are junk. people have other opinions, but i like real american muscle! my cousin just bought a toyota tacoma. its got a little pep to it, but nothing compared to my k10. oh yeah....trx400ex dude....call me when your balls drop then you can talk about trucks. tool.

I have a ford ranger, 2002, I like it except the fact that it has had so many little problems that a vehicle with 50,000 miles should not have. I havethe 4.0l, its a torquey motor, mated to the 5spd auto(some problems)with 4.10 rear. I get 16-17 mpg avg. I honestly am not sure if i would really buy another one with all of the problems i have had. Best thing i ever did was buy the extended warrenty.

My parents work for there money and I also have a little part time job and help my brother wash cars in the summer. Don't even start on me being a little rich kid my mom has worked for 30 years as a nurse and my dad has also worked his butt off and they both do it for me and my brother to have a good life. So don't even start on me being rich and having everything handed to me!!! I don;'t know about you and your family but don't even start on me and mine.
