well i want to get a rear shock for my 300ex but since it has a piggyback resevoir i cant put it on without modifying my frame. So i was wondering if i could put the shock upside down.

Maybe get some shock covers top help keep dirts and water out of inside, because its it upside down.

no u cant Because the top of the shock has an eye. and the bttom of the shock has to slide over both sides of the linkage.
