my friend ordered a hmf slip on and it came with a 48 pilot, is that to big, what should he go with, with the stock one in, when he goes from idle to full throttle it boggs down then revs up

whats his main jet at, what kind of filter does he have on, lid or no lid. I kind of need more info, but I would suggest going with a 42 pilot. Sounds a bit big to me.

i run a 50 pilot on my 426, hmf slip on, K$N, no lid, and a Hot cam stage 2 (old version). on a stock bike with jsut a slip on the 48 sounds a tad fat. try a 42 adn if it backfires on decel then go with a 45 or adjsut the air/fuel screw.

42 is the way to go. You start doing motor mods than I could see going higher.

I would'nt use a higher pilot use you have like a cam and piston and a full system. Put a 42 pilot in and thats about right.
