What is the difference between the 99-04 and 05-07 400ex"s that they need 2 different CDI's?

as far as i know just a reverse rev limit

So I gotta pay the extra $100 because of reverse? don't really seem worth it.

Thats what happens when you buy reverse. To me reverse is worthless on a sport quad, but thats my opinion. The only time I go backwards is when I push it out of the garage, so I'm really good at do donuts.

most aftermarket cdis remove the reverse limit so i dont see why you couldnt use a 99-04 cdi but please dont take my word for that

so...if u buy an aftermarket CDI will it remove the reverse limiter??? cuz that is what i want

most do i believe, the alba cdi does, as well as the procom and vortex and maybe the dyna im not sure about the others
