ok there is some sort of small chance that i might be getting a 96 cobra with 85,000 mile. So the question is what kind of insurance am i going to be looking at for full coverage. i am 17 and have close to a 4.0 so i get a good grade discount. are there any tips you might have for getting a lower payment, or "tricks". Also i am only getting full until i pay of the car loan that i will be getting. i will be getting it for 9500

Its going to be high no mater what. My 4.0 v 6 ranger is $1200 a year and that is a good deal. I bet your looking over 2k a year if not more.

I'd guess like $2k-$3k a year. Probably equal to if not 50% more than your car payment.

You will prally pay twice that for a cobra at 17 years old. Is that full coverage? If not prally add another $500 - 1k a year to it.

All you could do to get a lower payment is keep the s - 10 put Liability on it and sau thats you daily driver and the cobra is not a daily driver. Thats what I do for my truck. Cuts my payments by about $40 a month

so im looking at about 200-300 a month which is about what i expected. 110 is for liability on the s-10. Do you really think it would be cheaper to keep the s-10 with liability and the mustang with liability as a "non daily driver". This would only be until the loan is paid of which will also only be 3500.

insurence is a rip off, thats why i drive slow, i cant blow anymore money on getting from point A to point B...i say just find a cheap relieable car...but thats just my 2 cents

I just turned 16 a few months ago and got my truck. I got a discount for a B average and then I got 15% off for watching some movie on safe driving. I think total I saved about 25%.

Not trying top be a dick but you have the rest of your life to get your dream car. I want a new corvette and I could get one if I didn't want my quads. BUt I chose to have 2 quads and a decent truck instead of putting every dime into a new vette. Spend 9k on a car and 5 k a year for insurance??? Or spend 1,300 on insurance and maybe 6k on another decent vehicle and save your money and buy quad stuff.

i would consider taht if everyone that i rid ewith didnt already sell their dirt bikes or fourwheelers and got nice cars. On top of that everywhere around be that i used to ride is beign closed off, plus where does 5k for insurance come from. The most that i can see on paying is 300 a month which is only 3600 a year

I was joking about the 5k. But you will prally pay more in insurance then the car is worth within a few years. Its your money do what you wish but when you get older you will wish you would have spent it elseware.

i only plan on paying full coverage untill the small loan is payed off, hell ive paid several times more tahn what my s-10 is worth in just liability. my liability will actually be lower because it is a car, my buddy is paying 85 a month for a 96 cobra

when you get your loan check into a coverage from the bank to protect your loan value. that way you can only have liability. thats what i did when i was in high school. i had a brand new jeep and after some wrecks, tickets, and a DUI they wanted $770 a month. i paid a small amount for a insurance coverage on my loan and then liability. saved me over $300 a month.

by the way getting older rocks! ive cleaned up my act and now pay $35 a month for full coverage.
