basicly i am looking to up the compression in my 416 from the je 10:8:1 to the je 12:1. i want to change the rod for peice of mind. i know the carillo rod is better but at 12:1 would the hot rod hold up also. it is a lil cheaper...just wondering if the carillo is overkill and the hot rod would suffice for this application. also i plan on switching to the web 479 over my current hot cam stg 2. anyone have any piston/valve clearance issues using this setup?

I bought my Carrillo directly from Carrillo Industries for $175. Installation of the rod is about $75 assuming you remove the crank assembly yourself. Probably closer to $350 if you have a shop split the case. The Carrillo is pretty much unbreakable; the craftsmanship is second to none.
