View Full Version : Computer Virus? I need help!

I'm not quite sure, but I believe I may have a virus or something unwanted on my computer.

...every few minutes that little "warning" pop-up will appear. When I click on the balloon, it opens Internet Explorer and takes me to some Web site advertising an antivirus program called AntiVermins. I've read today that AntiVermins isn't actually an antivirus program at all, but instead, it is a type of rouge anti spyware program or something. I have no idea what a rouge anti spyware program is, but that's what I've read of AntiVermins. All I know is that I've read that it isn't good and I cannot seem to get it off with anything!

Can someone help me out here? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I had the same thing, it's just spyware. Very annoying spyware.

...great, thank you! Yes, it is very annoying.

I looked over those two links, and I will admit that all of that information intimidates me. Was it fairly easy for you to remove that spyware from your computer?

It took a while for me to fully understand waht they were talking about but once I understood it, it was really easy.

...haha, I've read a few more posts about people having viruses on here today. It seems that everyone mentions porn. I began getting that pop up after I downloaded a few songs using LimeWire; I uninstalled LimeWire and used the above Web sites, and I believe everything is good to go.
