does a black motor hold in more heat? and of is does will it disapate it better powdercoated or painted?

If it does hold in heat i bet it is a very small difference, probably barely noticable.

In theory your not supposed to powder coat an engine because it acts as an insulation that will hold in heat.

My friend painted his in a high-heat spray paint. he just cleaned it and put 3 coats on it. It is holding up VERY WELL

I've seen quite a few cylinders powdercoated black, I dont think its going to make that much of a difference.

Theirs this one type of black coading you can get on your cylinders that makes it run alot cooler. I bet you could have your whole engine dune in it.
