there are close to 10 raptor 660s in my group, and every single one we've dropped the front to a 12 tooth sprocket and they all have loved the result... makes it much quicker, and can pull the hill better, and makes it easier to get out of 2nd gear which is so long...

since you dropped the front sprocket did you add a tooth in the back or keep it stock?

no, we keep them stock...

that would gear it down even more if you added a tooth in the back...

I've heard that dropping a tooth on the front sprocket helps alot with acceleration..

you heard right... im surprised you havent done it do your bike... a few dollars for a front sprocket is an inexpensive mod that you get a lot out of

I agree with the 12T front sprocket. This is by far the best 20 bucks i spent.

The 700 guys do the opposite by going up to the 15t. Our 1st gear is so short that its almost never used especially after a few mods. It adds 3-5mph on top too.
