IM getting mine bored right now. How do you guys like the 440 does it make a good difference? And is a full exhaust required for more power or is a slip on ok?? just wondering what you guys think about your 440's...

you will see a better performance gain with a full exhaust on a built motor but a slip-on will be fine for now

Dont forget you prolly need HD studs and I would get a comtec headgasket. If you havent gotten a cam chain you prolly need that to. You may already know this, but i can't help but say something

Just a 440 with everything else stock is worth about 3hp. If you do a lot of hard rideing add the cooler, same with a lot of duneing add cooler and sparks clutch kit. With a lot of drag racing add a clutch basket also. That post has a lot of reading but its a lot of good info.

..Also,if you run it hard might want to think about a rod,i never did have problems with studs..mine was a pump gas 440.

Ya didnt say what compressio you were gonna run mine is 11-1 440 stroker cam slip on k&n with open box jetted & is immensely stronger than stock be sure to use upgraded studs for higher compression & an 02 crf timing chain much stronger than the 400 chain 1 link thicker ,same length & cheaper 440 ,s are a wicked upgrade from stock & you wouldnt regret it as long as you do it right, my stock rod is doin just fine after a couple years of beating this thing ,once I upgrade that Ill stroke it anyway
