Whats it take to smoke a ltr450. My buddy has one with a yoshi pipe and Cherry bomb. Claims hes making 59 hp :rolleyes: . Anyways I have a cut airbox lid and nmotion pipe. Whats it going to take. Would an HC2 do it or am I going to need a piston?


Ps. What kind of numbers are these Suzukis making

Cam and piston would probably do it!

What year 450r do you have???

The LTR450 with a pipe and cherry bomb is no way close to 59HP he is somewhere in the low to mid 40's

Yep..around mid-40's..

Piston & Cam should do it....and a whole lot of practicing...Rider is everything :).

Since you have a 05 I would go with what ghott said and get a cam and piston. Also there is no way he is even close to 59hp. More like 43-45.

Yeah there is NO way that he's putting out 59hp unless hes not telling you that he has cams, porting, hi-comp piston and a fuel controller!! I have the cherry bomb and a Yoshi slip-on and it's a lil faster than my buddies 06 450R with full HMF on it.

my 06 450r with everything is only laying down 54 with FCI.....59 out of that LTR NO WAY... Hope to hit 56 when i got higher comp on my bike.

put a 14 to 1 piston in it and convert it to alcohol and you smoke em, LOL :D no man i ran 11:5.1 piston and stage2 hotcam and stock filter with no lid on airbox and stock exhaust with spark arrester pulled out and had no problem beating them. i did it allday at slades park in VA. drag racing. i would barely bet 06 450r with HRC kit. i mean if i hit a little bump they would pass me, that close. dont have to worry about that no more going big bore. it kind of irritated me that i bought the 05 and the next year 06 was alot better, so i have to fix that. but still would like to have electric start. and dont like goki electric start kit. it dont look good (IMO).

those ltr's are fast I drag raced a couple different ones the one had a cherry bomb no lid or baffle and he could beat me before I got my cam after the cam I would get him by about a length in 300ft. The other has a trinity efi control w/ a trinity pipe, when we race it's alway close to call. with an 05 I beleive you will need a port job, piston, and cam and practice hooking up cause them zukes hook and go w/ a good rider.

If your buddy has a pipe and cherry bomb on his LTR, your Honda should hange in there if not be faster bone stock. My wife has an 04 450R that I ride occasionaly and bone stock it had more power and in a straight mile quicker than an LTR. I really thought about buying an LTR when they came out and they had one at the local Suzuki shop with the full Yoshi pipe and Cherry Bomb and I didn't understand the hype when I got off of it. Suzuki's new state of the art bike had less motor with the pipe and cherry bomb that our stock 04 Honda that had less motor than the 04 Yamaha.
