Strange...i've had 2 SKS for well over a decade, not a problem....cant remember how many cases of ammo were shot through them both. What problems have you had with yours??

I have several, and i wouldnt think they would be very good for deer hunting...but really fun to shoot, but the price of ammo is skyrocketing!

Ammo is goin up because they are outlawing it from certian countries.

SKS's are bad@ss. My buddies got one. He also's got about 200 guns and guns and ammo is his life. He has a library in his house of gun and ammo books.

He shot a 1/4'' piece of angle iron with the SKS, with a FMJ round, Went threw it left a perfect circle and the iron didn't fall over, now thats pretty sweet.

They are 7.62 rounds.

I believe you can get them for $.09 a shot

And where the HELL are you finding an SKS for under $200?:huh If thats true get me 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have 2 a yougo and a chinease, both good guns, cheap and such, and $200 isnt bad of a price i duno why people are so amazed their pretty cheap guns.

Dirt cheap!! Even Dunhams has them for under 200. I think about the best ones you can buy are the Chinese models. Correct me if I am wrong on that one. Most are surplus or in some cases "only dropped once" so most are dinged up but in very useable condition.

+1

SKS is a great gun. Relaible as an AK, and less expensive. (Mind you, I'm a gun snob with a few Class III SBR's and a few guns that run north of $2 grand)

You can rip that silly mag thing off, and get 30 rd detachables.

Great little blasters that'll shoot 4-5" groups at 100 yards.

Alot of people do use them as deer rifles (with lo cap mags.)

"Best" is pretty subjective but as I recall, the Russian ones are considered "best."

CHinese are very good tho.

And I think I've seen some Albanian / Romanina ? ones out there.
