if you do a search you will find more than enough information about shocks than you could need. All of those shocks are great shocks.

Get triple rate TCS Zero Pre Load shocks, they're excellent shocks.

I'll sell you my Elkas, triple rate w/ comp adjust. I only had them for a month or 2. They got 2 XC races on them. $650. I got pics if your interested.

Im not happy with the SSD device. I dont like how the top spring stays fully compresed when te bke is just sitting there with no one on it. I want to get PEP's or Axis. Is $650 a good asking price?

Thats the way no preload devices are supposed to work! If you don't want zero preload system then you can get the regular spring to replace it.

I am currently running some PEp and i think next time around i am going to go with elka...Id rather have some PEp but the wait on them is ridiculious,so im going to get elka just cause they are faster.

TCS is pretty much the same as Axis. I would go with them. I talked to John Natalie who runs TCS, and he said they're awesome shocks! I have Elkas, and they seem to work fine for me, I've used PEP ZPS right after using my Elkas, and I liked the PEP's more...............In the end, I am gonna go w/ PEP, TCS, or Axis. Elka's still workin out the bugs, maybe in a year or two more pros will run them, and they will be the hot ticket.

Works are not better then Elka`s, PERIOD. I do not know what he is thinking, but he is wrong. You will like the Elka`s. I think the best thing to do would be is, get the Elka`s, run them for a year and when they need rebuilt send them to a PEP Service Center or I am thinking Derisi when I get mine rebuilt next year sometime.

I think that might be a little high for those elka's bad*****

and racerx - John Natalie isn't going to tell you TCS shocks suck. I'm guessing they sponser him. More than likely, even if they suck (which they don't) he's gonna tell you to go buy them. If i remember right, axis and TCS use different quality components.

Hhaa, asking what the best shocks are on here,is like going to FORD and asking about a CHEVY, you know everyone will scream at you til you get some ELKA's. But me myself,I am gonna get me some AXIS,and Herrman A-arms,and be set,or mayeb screw it all and get me a Roll frotn end,soI can be bling bling, and have the best stuff around,i dunno.....

But if it was me,I'd go with TCS,AXIS,or PEP....Its up to you,but them PEP ZPS are great shocks, and cost around $895,which is like $200-300 cheapoer than AXIS,but just as good,i dunno,do what you want, listen to everyone and there cousin's on this board, and get ELKA,w/e....

Roll the best stuff around? i beg to differ. That stuff is way over priced. Your paying for the name. Thats all. sure its a great product, but its mostly for the name.

Why we all like elka's is that they're not $900, you can get a nice set of shocks for around 7.

The ride won't change much, your just gonna sit higher in the travel. I've never tried PEP's, I don't care for the Works shock bodies they use. There are people in XC running them but I don't know how they like them. I think I have only sold one set of PEP's in the last 2 years.

I know if it means anyhting, Greg Trew and Chris Borich run PEP. But if u ask me Trew looks like his front end bounces alot, dont know if thats the way he likes them...maybe, but thats just what it looks like when i see him racing.

PEP`s are great Shocks and I was gonna get some, but the wait is nuts. Now that I have seen all three, if I was ever to build a full out Racing Quad I would either get Elka or Axis because I think the Quality of the Parts is better. Heck I would look at Derisi Shocks too. Derisi Shocks with some Houser LT`s would be Sweet. For me though just going to start Racing next year I didn`t need the best shocks out there and I am very happy with my choice in the Elka`s.
