last night i installed my new dasa racing exhaust. So i took it out for a test run and while i was coming back i noticed that my headpipe was glowing orange. So my 450 has to be running really lean. Is there a way to adjust my carb to get more fuel without putting bigger jets in.

Yes. You can adjust your air fuel screw mixture. My header glows about 6 inches down but it seems if I go richer it wont start so I think I am at my sweet spot. But yes there is a way you can adjust it.

my headpipe on my Rossier glows in the night too, but I think the jetting is pretty close. I would not worry about it unless it is popping from being to lean. You could bump it up to be richer and if it bogs back it back down!

well it does backfire and pop when u let off on decel. so wheres the air fuel mixture screw on my carb? This is only a temporaray solution so i can ride it this weekend. Also wheres the best place to find a jet kit and what size jets should i be using for just having a full exhaust uni filter and no airbox lid?

once it was started with choke on it was ok, it warmed up and i turned the choke off and it got bad. Oh and it burned a bit of oil for the first 20 seconds or so that it ran

hey! if your runing stock jet, your a/f screw is not going to compensate for what you have done. you need at least a 170 jet if not bigger then that. if your on stock jet you are taking a big chance you are running lean. yes they do glow a little bit but not that much. your exhaust temp should be around 1200 degrees right where the cylinder and the head pipe connect.

my jets are clearly numbered and comes with needle and main jets through 104 to 180. i would of liked it better if kit came with bigger jets, like up to 200. going big bore need bigger jets. where did you get oem jets? i have never seen them. all i seen is aftermarket kits. do they make oem kits. i would rather have them in a kit so i can swop tell i get the proper jet i need.

What year are we dealing with here or did I miss it?? And try the jetting thread in the how-to section helps alot. In my 06 I'm using the HRC needle and oem jets, just easy i guess. Quick question anyone know what the stock setting on an 06 for the fuel screw?

Forgot about jet kit's. Just go to your dealer's parts counter and get the genuine Kelihn jets. Start with a 170. Do it soon or risk burning it up. The fuel screw is between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 turns out.
It only effects the pilot circuit, you need to bump up your main jet.

Your Honda dealer should have all the kehin jets right at the counter. Full exhaust with a aftermarket filter and no lid should be 175-180 main, 1.5-2.5 turns out on the air/fuel screw. I have a full DMC exhaust with a k+n filter, I am still using the lid but without the snorkel. I am running a 175 main with the air-fuel screw 2 turns out. It doesnt pop at all on deceleration, and doesnt hesitate a bit on acceleration. The jetting is kind of tricky to get right, but its not worth burning up a motor! The 450 carbs can be worked on right in the bike also, just loosen the clamps and twist it around, its super easy.

yea i ordered the hrc kit on monday from wppracing so it should be arriving here soon. Kinda sucks i put a brand new exhaust on it and can't even ride it! I was hoping to have it running by this weekend but its not looking good. I'll have more info on how it works after i get my jets.
