Hey, are any of the lakes froze up around you by chance? I want to hit up a lake here prety soon on my quad but there seems to be no remotly cold weather. I was out in a long sleave shirt today.

Oh and as for the shocks, how good of a shock you get is more or less directly conected to how much you pay for them.

hey ya i just finshed studding my tires. and im so pumped 2 go, but no nothings frozen. we get a thin layer at night but it melts during the day soo. i think around you should be frozen first, your father north.

I've been nothing but pleased with my Works G Series front shocks. I got the triple rate and paid $415, but I got a deal because I ordered two more pair for my 4wd. I think regular price was $465. Mine are much better than my b-i-l's Elka's.

You would not regret it.

I had works triple rates on my 250R. I liked 'em pretty good.

I've got the 450R shocks revalved and resprung for my ride style and weight for my 400EX. Comp, rebound adjust shocks with reservoirs..... don't think you can get more for $600.

I have a beautiful front pair of ohlins shocks that i bought for my 400ex may of this year. I raced them twice than had Lost Creek Cycles service them. they have 4 or 5 races on them. These are still cherry. I paid new $1200 for them I want to get rid of them only because I bought a yfz450 & they dont fit. These are the same shocks the pro's use. $650 is alliam asking for them they fit standard travel a arms or stock. These shocks made me fell like i was riding on a cloud. To see what they look like on my quad & see good pictures of the shocks themselves,go to honda parts 4 sale. Look for Honda 400ex parts must see Treadstater would be me quadracer707, go to page #1 to see quad with ohlins SWEET
Than go to page #3 to see the shocks by themselves These puupys almost look NEW.THanx WADE:D :D

i would reccomend revalved 450r shocks. they r good shocks and they r fairly cheap compared to the new shocks as stated above.

i wouldnt call $600 exactly cheap, i would buy a used set before that for around $400 like some PEP, elka or works and ride on em for awhile then if they need rebuilding u can send them in, as far as resaling these i havent seen a set of rebuilt 450r sale for anywhere in the 300's and esp not the 400 dollar range, not saying the 450r shocks wont perform as good, im sure they are good but at least if you decide to sell the machine you get more of your money back

well first off you dont know crap about ebay, they are at 136 now and there are 4 DAYS and 19 hours left you really need to close your mouth if you dont know what your talking about the stuff goes up at the last minute, you have 10 posts and think you have all the answers in the world. i would put money on the fact i have been into ATV riding/ racing longer than you have been alive seeing that you are only 14 from now on learn stuff before you start putting out misinformed information out, makes the forum look bad.

just so you know im not saying that 450r shocks cost 600 alone, i am talking about getting them rebuilt by C&D, gt thunder or DRS

remember guys the original thread was best shocks for 400ex, not CHEAPEST. If you want the best these are the ohlins spen dthe LITTLE extra money. Suspension is probably the best investment you can make, IF you plan on racing. For your buck $600 is a steal for $1200 shocks that are alomost brand new. Why do you want to spend $400 for just OK shocks when these will last a life time if you maintain them right.

There is a difference between the Works G Series and their Steelers. The G's are a little higher quality shock and they have a larger shaft, 5/8" vs 1/2", as well.

I ordered triple rates w/out reservoirs and the difference in price between the two was about $50 if I remember right. I'm able to add reservoirs at a later date if I decide to, or so I was told.
