a stock 450 full system will not fit ur bike becuase there is only one pipe, and 2 exhaust ports. the silencer will take fabbing to fit, but u won't notice a diff. n power. for racing, do suspension first. a good set of shock (axis or PEP), +3 a-arms, steering stabilizer, GT thinder linkage and rear shock revavle. for the motor, do a 416 or 426, stage 2 hotcam, 11:1 comp piston (JE or CP), HD rod, full system(Yoshi, HMF, or sparks), and an '05 or earlier 450R carb. u will see alot more power with that engine setup.

What are you aiming for performance wise?

And for the 450r exhaust, the only thing that would work is the silencer, which is probably the most corked up thing on the planet. I would expect more or a decrease than anything LOL. Get a REAL exhaust.

IMO, I would say no, if you're wanting a 12.5:1 440, the first thing will be head studs, followed by a good port job (if not oversized valves), and then a good carb. Fcr 39 or 41 would be choice. You could go w/ what u said (plus HD head studs) but it would not perform that well. That motor will need to breath.

What kind of racing are you going to be doing? $1000? How reliable do you want this thing. Ill tell you right now on 12.5:1 compression a 400ex, your going to want the heavy duty studs (about $100 installed) and a heavy duty rod. Even then it isn't nearly as reliable as something with 11:1, and then it still wont run spectacular like a well built 440. Bigger carb, filter, full exhaust, cam, oversized valves...the list just keeps going on....

personally, I would do a mild motor like suggested something with say 11:1 compression, then try and get some good suspension on it....also comfort will help a lot so a good comfy bend of handlebars...some nerf bars would be a good idea, def need a kill switch.....

Take a bit to think about what you want to do with it and how much you want to spend, either way congrats on the purchase.
