400ex Hood

Im wanting to put a hood on my 400ex but i dont know how hard it would be. Its a 2004 so it didnt come stock with one but i was just wondering if anyone had put one on a 400 that was a 2004 or older. I was curious how hard it would be, what i would have to do, and what kind of hood to get. Any pictures or replies would really be appreciated.

its very easy, take off head lights and do sum cutting and place the hodo where u want it and drill a hill in the corners of the hood and drill holes into ur plastic and then get 4 of them plastic snap thingys and putit on

REALLY EASY...i had to use zip ties up top because a plug will not clear the tank? looks better than the headlights i never used! i'll see how well it holds up in a few weeks....my luck a tree limb will catch the grill and crack/rip it off:devil:

Thanks for all of the posts guys. I think as of now im gonna go with the maier scoop hood or the quad tech. The only thing is that the quad tech is a little pricey. I would like to see a pic of a quad tec one or even if anyone had one for sale. Thanks again.

I really like the quad tech ones. I was also wondering if anyone has just taken out their lights and put like a piece of plastic or something in there instead? I think ive seen it dine before but im not sure.

can you put a hood on with out cutting your fenders and do you have to take the head lights out?

Heres mine on my old 400. You dont have to race cut the fenders but you do need to remove the headlights. overall an easy install.
