Camera Problems

My camera keeps saying dirty head unit when I try to record. How do I go about cleaning that?

i am assuming its a video unit, and they make head cleaning cartridges, discs etc for them

Is it like a tape? Kind of like a cd with a brush for Cd players?

i know on a few of the video units ive had over the years, a 8mm tape, just like the tape you record on, is installed and allowed to play. this cleans the drive rollers etc.
