Hey you guys like I said I'm gonna buy an exhaust but I really can't determine which one to buy, that's where you guys come in. Okay, so I had a Yoshi but I sold it for cheap. I was a pretty good pipe but then I thought about buying a Sparks, but people say that you have to have motor work done to feel power increase, Is this true?? So I kinda got my eyes set on Big Gun or Pro Circuit, but I'm not sure so people please help me out!!!
Thanks

You don't need motor work to notice the power of sparks, but sparks pipes really bring out the power in modded motors. It's mostly a top-end pipe, not much torque from it. If you like torque I suggest a HMF Slip-on.

i have a big gun race on my 400ex and it made a world of difference all over, with most being on the bottom to midrange

Thanks for all your ideas. To the person that said something bout the HMF, are they good?, I mean how much h.p. does it add?? And after I buy an exhaust, It will probably need to be jetted, because I have a UNI air filter, what jet do you think it will need??

HMF is a great choice! As for power, not much, no pipes add alot of HP, especially on a 400ex. So don't think they suck because of that.

Jetting depends on your evalation, tempature etc.... Where are you located and what's the tempature?

Where I live, louisiana, it was hot when i rejetted for my slip-on pipe, i had a 155 main 42 pilot and 2 1/2 turns out a/f screw.

hey man check out this guy i bought an hmf s/o from him. His shipping time estimates are spot on. I got a hmf slipon black chrome P/C, 152 main, 42 pilot, screen type sp arestor, free shipping and a 2 year warranty. 2 stickers and a poster also :D. and he was very understanding and almost always answers his phone and returns emails and messages promptly. For 228$ it was a great deal. I just put it on today looks great and sounds better. His ebay store is ATVgalaxy
this is the item number for the sport series 120062606489
this is the item number for the bill ball. 120064183948
He has the brushed ss.in stock i don't know if he has the bb. in. and he sent mine out day of. I know it was a pain for me to find one in stock. Jets are kliehn(sry if i spelled that wrong) And the color looks great i highly recommend the black chrome on a red ex. I don't know about a yellow or other color.

HMF makes a great pipe, so does Yosh, Sparks, Dr. D, LRD,And BigGun. it all comes down to what you want in sound and were you want your power and torque.

Ok it's not like thats a big deal yeah it was okay it was just the RC-S or whatever it is. Which is cheaper than the big gun and the pro circuit and they say you get what you pay for

Back In 2003 when i got my 400 i bought a k&n filter, DMC alien exhaust system, and rejetted it.I was very happy with the performance and durability of muffler/header its a good choice too.

show me the dyno results that said these two were as good or better than a yoshimura yosh is in the top 3 for a 400ex
1. Sparks topend
2. HMF(hmf and yosh are close)bottom to mid
3. Yoshimura bottom to mid

7. big gun (who knows what these are good for) :blah:
8. pro circuit

just messin with yall, seriously though those are the "better" pipes for a 400ex and there are dyno results on here to back it up with enough looking into it
