shooot, a new engine from service honda is $3000. no labor there except bolt it in your frame... or have some builder split the cases and replace what is only required to replace.... sure labor there, but if you find a builder you can trust, it would be the cheapest route imo.

good luck.

Yeah well some people dont care to pay a builder 2000 more than what an engine is worth just for a trail quad.

maybe, but there are ppl whom ride slow on trails, and there are ppl who CAN ride fast on trails...

who said anything about building $2000 engines... I build small ones too with just piston upgrade, or cam upgrade, or whatever... doesn't have to be all out build..

I was just trying to help the the guy out and you seemed to be making fun of my input. He asked where to find another motor not a cheap builder. So I passed along a good alternative that I use from time to time when I need parts.

the only thing about buying off of ebay you dont know what your getting your just taking somebodys word. not everybody you can trust. you might be buying a motor about to blow or blown already. mine is blown right now but im going to fix it myself. i need a crank, piston and cylinder. putting a big bore kit and a/m carb, its $1800 for that

I've never seen a good running 450R engine go for under $1800 yet. Most are over $2000, just for a used engine.

i dont need a new motor. they go for that much if you have a hook up. new hotrod crank 250, weisco 500 bore kit 940, carb 400, and if you know how to do your own work and not pay anybody to do it for you. if you spend over 2000 in motor alone you have sent your motor out somewhere to have custom work done or custom parts or if you get a stroker kit or something. if i spent over 2000 it would be in parts only. i am just going to port match my head i have done it on alot of motors it does pretty damn good. i dont race but i like to be out front so my googles stay clean. LOL (dont take me wrong here) if you dont thank it can be done give me a little bit to come up with the money and i will post some videos to show it. just need to learn how to post videos first. can anybody tell me how to. :blah:
