View Full Version : Will a '06 yfz "resistor" fit on a '05?

I bought a ceramic aftermarket resistor kit, but iw as told that the '06 bikes have them on them stock, so I was woundering if anyone knew if I could put this on a '05, are the plug-ins the same?

i know that the wiring from 05 to 06 is diffrent and i think onyl the 07s have the resistors on them but im not sure i hope its a little help

The '06 and '07 wire harness' are the same, and he '06 does have the extra resistor.

The plug-in where the aftermarket resistor goes, is the same on the '04-'07.

Where is this plug in at? I couldnt find where it would plug into on my '05.

The aftermarket resistor comes with a splice, that you unplug the resistor that is mounted on the front of the frame, between the forward hood mounts.
The '06 and '07 have a seperate set of wires that plug into the second resistor that is mounted by the radiator.
