I'm in the process of rebuilding my entire bike and i looked around and haven't found any information on it, so i'll ask. Is it possible to swap the stock headlight/plastic setup on a 2001 400ex for the 2006 version? If so, is it a lot of work to get it to fit?

I've always thought the pre 2005 400ex rear were the ugliest things on the market and i'm really liking the 2005/2006 model.

Any info on this would be appreciated

Hmm, just found this conversion kit on ebay, silly me:

Seems like this is what I need, right?

Noooooo don't ruin the old style plastics with the new ones. Lots of people think the older plastics look much better. I like the new ones on the 450 but just don't think they look right on the 400.

i definatel agree. the old style plastic looks freaking sweeeeet with carbon fiber hood on it. i'm in love with my hood. actually i think it might be my favorite part of my bike right now...until i get my stuff back from the powdercoater....then i think i'll be in love with my pink frame...
