haha, well your on deck. i had some here, but it was a wee bit old for me to want to trust so it went in the dumpster. by the end of the week your frame will be coated and i will try my best to get some close ups that show the color.

Cool, thanks for getting new powder.Whats the shelf life on that stuff?

Pappy
12-11-2006, 07:05 PM
if its kept in a climate controlled area, 6 month is about max

my garage stays between 40 and 70 most of the busy season, but in the summer i try and keep almost no powder on hand. infact, we had shipments delayed or overnighted this past summer due to the heat. im a very very small outfit so large quantitys are not needed.

Pappy
12-16-2006, 02:57 PM

Pappy
12-16-2006, 03:03 PM
yeah his powder came in friday also. ive just been doing batches of small parts and more prep work and need to get his foot peg area done so i can shoot it:p

right now, the major issue around here is that cody got a squirell and ryan didnt:scary: i think a nice noisy shop would be better then here at my desk:p

uh OH, the great challenge of growing up with a brother, I am the middle of 3 boys, lets just say my older brother went though a few walls growing up. How many deer has the crew gotten this year?

Checking on my parts too! whenever your computer will let you. I know the feelin though

Pappy
12-18-2006, 08:29 PM
trust me id like to take the 20 gauge to this damn thing.

cody killed 2, ryan killed 1 as far as the deer go. i only got 2 with my bow and 1 with my rifle, never even seen a buck worth shooting.

your frame and sub were sent to stripping today, so hopefully for x-mas i will have some pics up for you

parkers30
12-18-2006, 08:35 PM
sounds good :D

were you able to do anything with the bumper mount? or are you going to worry about that after stripping?

Pappy
12-18-2006, 08:58 PM
I usually try and do that stuff before stripping, but I have to get these rascals run through before the holiday so I will deal with it when it returns

parkers30
12-18-2006, 09:07 PM

mike nash
12-19-2006, 08:29 AM
I'm just guessing but I don't really think that pic does that color justice.

parkers30
12-19-2006, 08:40 AM
Thats what I was thinking too, but its the best pic I have seen so far :ermm:
hopefully your frame changes that

Pappy
12-19-2006, 01:37 PM
yeah that was my clutch cover. its a hard pic to get that actually shows what it looks like. the best description would be the old Z400 frame. It is kind of that color in range, but higher gloss and way more depth.

Pappy

The mount has been rebuilt. You will just need to use a nut and bolt but its stronger then stock

Pappy

I dprefer you used a nut and bolt. I can only rebuild the mounts so good, and the nut and bolt will allow some "fudge" factor room:p It will probably be the same size as the stock bolt, and about an 1inch long. If I have a set up I will include it with the frame

parkers30
12-20-2006, 09:10 PM
thats fine, don't worry about the bolt.... would just make life a little easier taking it on and off

parkers30
12-22-2006, 05:05 PM
don't think I ever mentioned anywhere in this tread tht I want it gusseted, I know I mentioned it in PM's but that was a while ago

Pappy
12-22-2006, 05:39 PM
yep, i should have it all done tomorrow. would have been done today but quite honestly, i needed a day to veg out:p 5 am this morning i woke up and delivered a set of harley rims:eek2:

ive been waiting for a rainy day to just be a bum and today was that day:p

parkers30
12-26-2006, 06:40 AM
Looks great, were the subframe mounts cracked at all? are the other parts done too?

let me know what I owe you, and how you want paid. Thanks

Pappy
12-26-2006, 03:38 PM
Id have to scratch my head and try and remeber, I did so many this weekend that they are all running together, one long crack...lol

I know one was near the left lower engine mount

all thats left is to get the subframe itself welded, and coated along with the 2 supports

payment is up to you, i can accept just about any form etc

parkers30
12-26-2006, 07:19 PM
sweet, didn't expect you to bother with the crack in it being aluminum and all. Can't wait to get it back together, but Mexico and building a house for a poor family comes first :)

Pappy
12-26-2006, 07:48 PM
