Banshee, 400ex, and KTM400sx Sell or Trade

1) 1996 Banshee. Needs to be jetted. Very hard to start in the cold weather, but runs great when it does start. Obviously has good compression and spark, but has a hard time starting.

Has Bills pipes and silencers, Propeg style nerfs, AC stadium front bumper, shock covers all around, renthal bars, handguards, new tires.

Sell for $1350. Easily worth a couple grand after it's jetted!


2) 2001 Ktm400sx. Runs great, very fast, fires right up and sounds awesome. Looks good, but has normal scratches.

Has WP suspension front and back, bars, White Bros silencer, graphics, new front tire. Will need a new rear tire, but should be fine for a test drive.

Sell for $1550. These go regularly on Ebay for around $1750.


3) 2000 Honda 400ex. Not running currently. Project.... but should be an easy one. I was told when I got it that the timing chain stretched and jumped a tooth. So most likely it only needs a timing chain. Subframe is slightly bent, but does not affect rideability.

Sell for $1050.

Is the motor fine or is it locked up and/or the head chewed up at all?

Motor turns over smoothly with starter, no clunking or any odd noises. It seems to have good compression that can be felt through the end of the exhaust. It makes sense that its just a stretched timing chain since the 400's are known to have that problem anyway.

But, I don't have the time or desire to tear into the motor to find out. At this price, it'd still even be worth it just to buy a used motor, throw it in there, and sell the old one as a project or part it out. Either way, you can't go wrong for $1050.

Banshee is still for sale! KTM is also. Judging from the interest, I don't think the Banshee will be around much longer either, though. But no cash in my hand yet, so it's still available.

Install, I'm a little over 3 hours from the East side of chicago, a little over 3 1/2 hours from the Western half of Chicago. All depends on traffic... I can help with delivery a little for the price of gas, though.

Would you consider a trade for a 2004 KX125 with a nearly new 190cc top end? It also has Boyesen reeds, Tag T2 bars and clamps, and BRAND NEW graphics, not even put on yet. VERY FAST will outrun a stock 250 2-stroke. TRADE FOR BANSHEE?
