tranny problems

my 400 just locked up all of the sudden and it will only run with the clutch in, even when the neutral light is on its still in gear, and the quad will only go like 5 feet before it locks up again so i need some help what could this be :confused:

try this will the quad roll? turn it off, put it in neutral and try to push it. if it catches then, sounds like a broken gear, or the cog that engages 2nd gear is known to break off so that may be it too. most likely it will need to be torn apart and teh cases split to find out exactly what went wrong.

the only way the quad rolls is with the clutch in, other than that it acts like its in gear, yea your probably right, there is also a clicking type noise by the counter shaft (loud)
