I currently have the stock tires on my 400ex..and they SUCK...I ride in a place thats got alot of deep mud puddles and ruts and I want to go with bigger tires that will allow more clearance and steer better. Is there anything out there thats inexpensive and will do the trick ? I dont race proffesionally and dont want to spend to much. A friend told me to not go any bigger then 20" tires because it would be to hard on the clutch,

Any reccomendations ? ..I definitely want to replace the front tires as soon as possible

For the rear I'd go with Razr or Razr2. And in the front Razr2 all the way!

The bigger the tire the harder it is on the clutch.

it might be, but going from a 20 to a 22 is nothing to worry about.

Stock 20" going to aftermarket 22" is a pritty big differance. Not only are they bigger but they are alot heavier. I ran 22"xct rears and i had no problums with the clutch.

22x7x10 up front and 20x11x9 in back..

are KENDA KLAWS are decent tire for a decent price. I would like to stay under $150 for a set of 2 front tires

I wouldn't worry about it being too hard on the clutch, if you start to have problems get stiffer clutch springs. Also even going to a more aggressive 20in tire like the razr II will be harder on the clutch than the stock tires were. On something like a 400 its nothing to worry about.

If you go with Kenda Klaws XC... it will only cost you around 180-190 for all 4 tires and free shipping through Rocky Mountain:cool:

I have Razr II's on my 400ex and I couldn't be happier. They grip through the roughest stuff, 200% better than the stock tires, and my old Claws.

That's what I'm running for Holeshot HD's - $200 for the front pair with rims
