View Full Version : hard faced rockers? titanium valves?

do you actually need these. the only time i heard that you need this if you use a regrind since the hardened surface will wear the softer surface of the rocker. web cam used to have a kit with heavy duty valve springs and all around cam and no mention of hard facing. my bud has this in his 400ex and has had it for a full year of HARD abuse and no probs. know i see the kits and they say you need to hard face the rockers? are they using regurinds now?

also does anyone know if they make ti valves for the 400 ex.

Most engine builders are agreeing that hardening the rockers isnt really necessary! FST is running Chad Duvalls 500 on the stock rockers with no problems and TC isnt going to harden my rockers on my 505

i got my black diamond valves for about 65 bucks for the intake
60 for the exhaust
