Finally made it back to the dyno...

Thanks to another good deal from Brian @ WPP Racing....If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have been able to get back on the dyno. I'm glad he's lookin out for me :).

We didn't find much more power in a rejet. BUT it was amazing how much bottom end I was leaving on the table with my old clutch.

Brian did the very first A/F pull with the 190 main (old jetting), and then stopped to show me the difference between the runs last time (slipping clutch), and the current run, with the same jetting and everything, and it was pretty cool. The difference from 5,000-7500 RPM's was amazing.

Check out the difference in torque! Sweet.

So here goes some specs:

05' TRX450R
- 13.1:1 Wiseco (94mm stock bore)
- Hot Cams Stage 2
- Ferrea Intake Valves (stock size)
- Sparks Filter
- DASA Pipe
- Airbox Lid OFF

RMATV HD Tusk Clutch Kit w/ CR500R Springs

Stock crank, carb, springs, exhaust valves....etc etc etc....

Sunoco/CAM2 Purple 110 (R+M/2) Fuel
American Racer Dyno Slick Tires
14/38 Gearing
Pulls done in 4th Gear
Dynojet type DYNO @ WPP Racing (http://www.wppracing.com)

Previous jetting:
190 main
50 pilot
HRC Needle 3rd Clip

Current jetting:
182 main
50 pilot
HRC Needle 3rd Clip

Best HP Last time: 47.65
Best TQ Last time: 32.32

Best HP This time: 47.67
Best TQ This time: 33.43

The HP stayed pretty consistent...as far as PEAK. And It looks like I picked up a little bit over 1 ft/lb tq on peak. I think the new curves look better overall.

Now for the graphs....

First up. This is all the dyno pulls from last time. This is when the clutch was slipping...

Next we have all the pulls from this dyno session today. WITH the new clutch.

This is the single best pull from when the clutch slipped, and the single best pull from today with the new clutch. Shows a good comparison.

Next we have the 3 best pulls from last time at the dyno (with the slipping clutch), and the 3 best pulls from this dyno session, with the new clutch.

Finally we have the A/Fr graph. Top is 182 main. Bottom is the 190 main.

Nice posts. So I guess that weird spike in the first session runs was from the clutch?

Whatever the case, it's lookin good now!

What were the SAE #s, great post BTW.

GPRacer: Yes, the spikes and big loss on the bottom end was due to a slipping clutch.

MXin700R: I'm not sure....I assume this was STD Smoothing? I have no idea what the SAE would look like...?

It is a more widely used correction factor, your #s are in STD- the SAE #s may be more may be less than those. It just depends on the weather conditions and altitude of the dyno test.

I just did some looking, and most of the runs I researched were with STD smoothing. This was over at the ORG. It looks as if tho even Matt (Mobile Dyno) uses STD smoothing for the most part. Maybe he'll stop by here and tell us why he chose this....
