so can i sand the cleer coat off the rims and it look shiney ang good

probably but the shine will not last long. they will probably tarnish and rust after a few rides.

Aluminum rims?They wont rust :) Anyway,If your talking aluminum they can be sanded with really fine like 1800 grit or even a emery cloth type material.Then its a matter of taking rubbing compound and jewelers rouge to get the fine scratches out and finish off with a quality metal polish.Be warned its not easy and your gonna put ALOT of elbow grease into this.If you have a dremel or something similar they save some time.But,Without the clearcoat you will have to stay on top of it.(With the metal polish)Anything aluminum can be shined to a mirror finish.Ive done intake manifolds for my drag car and polished the swingarm and frame on a sport bike.It alot of work but it looks good when your done.
