View Full Version : Gasket Adhesives what do use?

IM old school I been using Yamma Bond/ Three Bond Semi Drying for years but know im hearing about other products Permatex Spray on RED gasket sealer sticky tacky stuff, and a Yammabond type Permatex silicone also for ATV WATER craft ect

Use where? All stock OEM 250R gaskets are designed to be run dry, the exception to this rule is the head gasket.

Nope I always used a sealer with the gaskets, I hate air leaks!

Ive never used a sealer on my 250r. I just put them on and they never leak.

I use gasket sealer on a few spots of the cluth cover gasket and 2 of the base gaskets, just to make ease of installation. Pain-in-the-butt gaskets get one or two spots of it, to ease installation. I spray the head gasket with cooper coat, even though the manual says not, most recomend it, especailly with a cr gasket.
