i was thinking about getting a new rev box for chrismas. Is it a good upgrade and does it cause any problems.

Depends on which kind you buy, white brothers is known for hard starting. Look at procom magnum, dynatek, gt thunder, and sparks. From what i've heard they make good rev-boxes. Once I get my procom cdi i'll let you know how it works.

Many of the aftermarket boxes for the 400ex are actually just the stock cdi off a Honda XR250R with a different label - gives you about 900 more rpm's and a bit faster ignition curve. You can get one from Service Honda for cheaper than pretty much any of the "aftermarket" boxes.

imo there a waste of money unless you have motor work. i had white bros it was junk i then bought dynatek and sold it. i noticed very little differecents over the stock. imo save your money and get something else instead.
